PEMRA bans Zong 4G TV Commercial for hitting between his legs
Pakistan electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has banned Zong 4G tv business for broadcasting objectionable scenes. As we formerly reported, PEMRA issued a word to Pakistan Broadcasters association (PBA) on this regard which cited that PEMRA received numerous proceedings on indecent scenes in the commercials of OPPO and Zong 4G, which did not align with the social and cultural norms of Pakistan.
Zong 4G TVC showed a collection of boys and women playing cricket together and in the subsequent scene, a ball is seen hitting a man between his legs. PBA became ordered to amend the advertisement by February 20, 2017, otherwise PEMRA might prohibit the ad below Ordinance 2002 section 27.
PEMRA has issued some other notice (given beneath) titled “Non-compliance: PEMRA Prohibits Broadcast or Re-Broadcast of “Zong 4G” commercial with immediately effect”. the notice states that the advertisers had initially amended the said commercial, but in the end re-amended the advert and placed the identical objectionable visuals for which PEMRA is receiving complaints once again.
