Pakistan’s outstanding Couturier Nilofer Shahid presented her “Rembrandt Collection” as the grand finale to Fashion Week Pakistan [FPW15] Winter / Festive 2015 on Monday 30 November 2015.

Nilofer Shahid creative obsession with the great Dutch artist Rembrandt began six years ago on a visit to the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, as she transfixed by the sheer genius Rembrandt. The Rembrandt Collection is the realization of this great obsession in sartorial expression.

Rembrandt the imagination of millions of fascinated over the centuries, but no one in the East has paid tribute to his work in the form of Couture. Nilofer the Rembrandt collection is a conversation between the two artists and a powerful expression of their fascination with the master in many ways.

The collection is based on the life and work of Maestro. The five segments of the collection show unique stages of Rembrandt’s life and artistic career: Etching; Chiaroscuro (light and shade); Baroque; Military; Melancholy.

Each dress is a story treated in layers, never drifting from its artistic dialogue; each dress is a tribute to the artist’s dedication and creativity. A work of awesome solemnity that none represents a profound fusion of the spiritual and physical love, in the history of painting – The Showstopper is famous by one of Rembrandt romantic paintings, “The Jewish Bride”, inspired.
