Nickie Nina’s Winter PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2015 Day 2 Collection
To follow the next designer label was Nickie Nina, which presents a wedding collection entitled “Neh Shikar”. The collection drew inspiration from nature and the conservation of wild life and promotes the idea of a preserved setting. This collection has a strong stance against the hunting of animals and encapsulation of nature and wild life – who has always been an integral part of the fashion industry. ‘Neh Shikar’ took nature as a work of art, disturbed something that should not be violated or, but estimated in its living existence. It took also inspiration from the traditions of our culture, the use of classic cuts from the Rajput era, but with a modern twist.
‘Neh Shikar’ integrates the handwriting of Nickie Nina, the versatility of which weaves in the processing. A wide range of techniques, materials and colors are all aligned in the form of a dialogue. Silk, Jamawar, organza and velvet were to be connected with threaded and Zardozi to represent the picturesque landscape of the natural habitats. Nickie Nina has traditional techniques such zanjeera work Balochi taankas and Resham work used fused with modern techniques such as crystals. This fusion of tradition and modernity was also seen in the color palette, where traditional reds and maroons had been used along with a number of modern pastel colors. TV personality Mira Sethi attended showcase of the designer as a showstopper.
