Hisham Malik Eternal Winter Collection 2016-2017 Fashion Pakistan Week
“Eternal” by Hisham Malik is inspired by Alexander Pope’s neoclassical romantic poem “Eloisa to Abelard”. The poem is based on actual love letters exchanged between a nun and a priest Eloisa, Abelard, in medieval France. The central theme of the poem is Eloisa feelings of conflict between divine and human love, but a possible realization of their singular root.
Attention to detail and flawless craftsmanship are at the heart of the collection. Eternal visually narrates the poem about the imagery of fire and flowers, a recurring motif.The color scheme progression of the collection is on the various stages of the flame and its different colors on the basis of: peach colored turquoise to dusky pink, burnt orange, golden yellow and finally Ivory White. The setting of the poem is in the French style Ornament resist, especially by the band work, stump work, Toile de Jouy inspired surfaces and French knot embroidery. Show The pieces in the collection step, an evolution of the love of the innocence of passion to fear and eventually forever. This is achieved by initial appearance later on the basis of a glamorous rococo aesthetic and look of a religiously tinted neo – classical aesthetics; All during a romantic mood.
The collection was built with European haute couture techniques with tulle bodice Swen in each garment and foundation underskirts. The sixteen Look collection have six bridal designs and the rest are formal looks. The materials in the collection are hand woven primarily Benarasi materials such as fabric, kimkhwab, reshams Jamawar and kundan Zari and unconventional fabrics like velvet and Shanghai Tweet. Metal fabric have contrasting tones to colored the appearance of the flame and imitate.
